Get the Flash Lite RSD tool here and install it, try to get the latest version if you are experiencing a failure, then you can use an earlier version.
Grab the DROID MAXX (XT1080M) stock firmware factory here, the file size is quite large around 700 MB, packed in zip format. Once the download is complete, extract the firmware now using 7zip or other tool.
Open the extracted folder, locate a file with XML extension and open it with a text editor such as Notepad. You see a lot of command line in it, remove any line that has a command ‘getvar’ (eg step operation = “getvar” var = “-Download-size maximum”), then save the file XML .
Open RSD Lite, press the button three points next to Start and then modified XML file.
Now put the phone in Fastbot AP mode, so the RSD Lite can recognize the smartphone.
You connect your phone to the PC via the USB cable, it is recommended to use the social USB cable and avoid using a USB hub and a USB 3.0 port.
Give the button “Display Devices’ when the device is detected by the RSD, you will see the status of your phone at the bottom of the column, the phone in most cases detected in the port 1. Click the port and you will see the information in the column of the “Device Properties’.
Now is the time to blink, simply press the “Start” button.
The intermittent process lasted for about 20 minutes, so you have to be a little patient. Once the process is complete, the smartphone will reset itself, once fully boot your DROID MAXX was back to action to the original state without root or other modifications.
